MacDonald is always a wonderful challenger. This little daily devotional book is just that...wonderful and challenging. It is nice to have it on my . Thanks to those volunteers who made that possible.
I'm a George MacDonald fan. So was C.S. Lewis. I differ with MacDonald on some theological points, but still love his stories.
The writings of MacDonald have been very influential in my life. This one is also. Some of these short poem/prayers take several read throughs and dictionary use but they are well worth it.
I found this hard to follow, hard at times to read. Almost like a book of psalms. At least it was a free book.
I love the book, but I hate the formatting of this edition. The words are tiny and blurry. Very poorly done!
This is not a book you speed read. It's written in archaic, 19th century style; therefore many of the lines require re-reading and a good bit of pondering. But the effort is worth it--deep theology conveyed in beautiful phraseology.
MacDonald's spiritual insight and love for Christ is both gift and challenge.
I don't know what the problem was awhile ago when people were reporting the incomplete book, but it is all there now and is formatted beautifully. The TOC works quite nicely so navigation is a breeze. Definitely get this if you are looking to read this book - you won't find a better copy.
